Vouliagmeni is a resort area in the suburbs of Athens, located just 25 km from the centre of the Greek capital. Sea air, together with the smell of Mediterranean pines and eucalyptus trees, creates a healing microclimate.<\/span><\/p>\n

The beaches of Vouliagmeni<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In Vouliagmeni, all the beaches are sandy. Most of them are paid, as they belong to hotels. The cost for the whole day is about 8 EUR. There are also free beaches along the coast. The sea there is just as clean, but the beach area itself may not be well maintained.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rich tourists prefer the beaches of Kavouri, Asteria-Volimenis and Attiki-Akti, the entrance to which on weekends costs 30 EUR.<\/span><\/p>\n

The price of the beach directly depends on the list of additional services provided by the nearby hotel: cafes, restaurants, swimming pools, SPA, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most of the resort’s beaches provide plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities: windsurfing, diving, and other water sports. On the most remote beach of Vouliagmeni is the most luxurious and expensive marina in all of Greece.<\/span><\/p>\n

Entertainment and attractions Vouliagmeni<\/strong><\/h2>\n

One of the most popular attractions of Vouliagmeni is the lake of the same name with thermal springs. Around the lake rise yellow rocks, overgrown with coniferous forest. A six-meter canal connects the lake to the bay, so it has salt water. Water in Vouliagmeni, even in winter, does not fall below 20 \u00b0C.<\/span><\/p>\n

Not only swimming in the lake is useful, but also walks in the area, which can be combined with a visit to such attractions as the ancient stone lighthouse, stalagmite caves, and the active monastery of St. Potapius.<\/span><\/p>\n

3 km from Vouliagmeni on Cape Melengavi is the temple of Hera. The main complex of buildings is destroyed, but the foundation and fragments of columns, the altar and the classical gallery have been preserved.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
