Winnipeg is the main city of the province of Manitoba, located in a picturesque place at the confluence of the Assiniboine River in the Red River. The city was named after the lake of the same name, which is located 40 miles from the center. Previously, the Indians lived here, who gave the name to the lake, it sounded like \u201cvin nipeg\u201d – \u201cdirty water\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Entertainment and attractions in Winnipeg<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Church of Saint Boniface is a Catholic cathedral located in the Saint-Boniface quarter. The church was built – in 1818, and since that time it has been the most favorite place for locals and visitors to Winnipeg. In the oldest building in Winnipeg, the Museum of St. Boniface is located.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Concert Hall is the most visited building in the city. Almost all tourists visited this building and were at the performance of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. This is the oldest ballet in North America.<\/span><\/p>\n

The best park is Assiniboine, located along the river of the same name. Also, this is the largest park located in the city in all of Central Canada. It is famous for 50 bronze sculptures created by the skillful hands of local craftsmen.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the park you can go cycling or rollerblading, and in winter – snowboarding and tobogganing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another Winnipeg park, Mount Riding National Park, is also very popular. Here in the real prairies you will meet bison, bears, wolves and elks.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Winnipeg Art Gallery has over 10,000 works. This museum ranks as the 6th largest museum in all of Canada.
