Edmonton is the capital of the province of Alberta in Canada. Founded in 1795, the city became an outpost for the development of the lands of the north and west of Canada. Nowadays, Edmonton is a major commercial, industrial and cultural center of the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

Entertainment and attractions in Edmonton<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Alberta Legislature is a beautiful colonial-style building built in 1911 after Edmonton was chosen as the provincial capital. In summer, there is a swimming pool, and in winter, an ice rink is flooded, and free tours are held.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Royal Alberta Museum presents expositions with unique works by Canadian artists and sculptors, as well as objects that tell about Aboriginal culture. In the World of Science, a large science museum, in addition to viewing the exhibits, you can visit the planetarium and the IMAX theater.<\/span><\/p>\n

Muttart Conservatory is four huge glass pyramids, inside which three climatic zones and four seasons are represented.<\/span><\/p>\n

At Fort Edmonton Park, a living history museum, you can join costumed performances that tell about the life and history of Canada. In Elk Island National Park of Canada, located near Edmonton, you can look at the representatives of the Canadian fauna in natural conditions, go canoeing and skiing or play golf.<\/span><\/p>\n

More than 30 festivals are held in Edmonton each year. The Fringe International Theater Festival attracts over half a million visitors. And at the Whyte Ave Artwalk art and design festival, you can look at the works of local sculptors and artists.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the Symphony Under the Sky and Edmonton Folk Music Festivals, you can enjoy good music in the open air.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aspen is a popular ski resort that is considered very expensive and very prestigious. Aspen has four isolated ski areas – Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Aspen Snowmass.
