Florida is located on the peninsula of the same name, and it is also called the “Sunshine State”. This is a very popular winter destination, the land of oranges, beaches and world-famous theme parks such as Universal Studios and Disney World.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the west, the coast of Florida, 1000 km long, is washed by the Gulf of Mexico. In the east, the coast, 660 km long, is washed by the Atlantic Ocean. Each coast has its own specifics: the eastern one is great for surfers, the western one is for families, including those with small children.<\/span><\/p>\n

Florida is divided into four regions. The first is Florida’s panhandle, where the state capital and Pensacola, a well-known military pilot base, are located. Jacksonville is in North Florida; also of interest here is the collegiate town of Gainesville and the historic St. Augustine. Central Florida is the amusement park capital of the world, home to Cyprus Gardens, the Kennedy Space Center, SeaWorld and Daytona International Speedway in addition to the aforementioned ones. South Florida is Miami and Palm Beach, the Everglades swamps and the beautiful Florida Keys.<\/span><\/p>\n

Entertainment and attractions in Florida<\/span><\/p>\n

Miami is the state’s most popular beach resort. In addition, many tourists come to Florida to visit Orlando with Disney World park complexes, Wet and Wild water park, Islands of Adventure, Sea World, Universal Studios, Discovery Cove and Busch Gardens.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also, popular are the “land of alligators” Gatorland in Orlando, the Space Exposition at the Center. Kennedy, the Sunshine Skyway Bridge – the longest cable-stayed bridge in the world, the Salvador Dal\u00ed Museum in the center of St. Petersburg, the Seminole and Miccosukee Indian reservations.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the island of Key Largo in the Florida Keys, there is the first underwater park in the United States – John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. Here you will see a 3-meter bronze sculpture of Christ weighing 1.8 tons, at a depth of 6 meters underwater.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
