Capri is a tiny Italian island in the Tyrrhenian Sea that will make you fall in love at first sight. The island is the cradle of idleness and chic, home to expensive restaurants and luxurious villas. Eminent fashion designers, Hollywood superstars and prosperous people of all stripes love to relax here.
Resorts of Capri
In Capri, two iconic holiday destinations are the bay resorts of Marina Grande and Marina Piccola. The harbour of Marina Grande can be reached by ferry from Naples, and next to the pier, there is the largest beach on the island, Marina Grande Beach, where there are a lot of luxury hotels.
Marina Piccola is known for its postcard views: the Faraglioni cliffs and the Sirens’ cliff. In this part of an island, guests are treated to famous fish and Italian restaurants. Moreover, there are lush gardens named after the emperor Augustus.
The beaches of Capri
The beaches of Marina Grande, where ferries arrive, are the first to welcome guests. The concentration of people per square meter here exceeds all norms, but the infrastructure is well developed. As the entrance to the sea is pebbly, safety shoes will come in handy. You can not be afraid of the boats and yachts – they pass far from the coast.
One of the island’s most popular beaches, Bagni Tiberio, is located between Marina Grande and the Azure Grotto. The Bagni Tiberio seafood restaurant and the remains of an old imperial villa brought him fame.
Lido del Faro beach is located near the lighthouse, in the southwest of Capri. Lido attracts with terraces carved right into the rocks and connected by stone steps.
Marina Piccola Bay is considered the most equipped beach area on the island. Nearby are the beaches of Di Giola, La Fontelina and Luigi a Faraglioni. It is better to go to Di Giole for lovers of solitude. In La Fontelina, the descent into the water is not very convenient. And on Luigi a Faraglioni, a stone platform with gentle steps is covered with a carpet.
