Bad Kissingen resort town in Germany

Bad Kissingen is a small Bavarian resort town where Otto von Bismarck, Austrian and German monarchs once rested. The city was called the royal health resort of Europe because of the love for the resort of the crowned persons. In the 9th century, mineral springs were discovered on the site of the city, thanks to which it became the oldest balneological resort in Germany.

Sights in Bad Kissingen

Bad Kissingen attracts attention with a large number of old buildings, including churches. As people from all over Europe came to the resort, there were built a lot of different churches. So that everyone had a place to pray. There are Lutheran, Catholic, and Orthodox churches in the city. Moreover, there used to be an Anglican and a synagogue. There are also different architectural styles: Baroque, Gothic, Classicism and Romanesque styles.

The whole territory of Bad Kissingen is completely immersed in greenery. There are parks and a palm garden where you can take a break from city life. The infrastructure is developed very well. There are 5 of them here, and each differs in the composition of water and, accordingly, in its healing properties, which makes it possible to improve health with a variety of problems. In the sources of Rakoczi and Pandur, the water is rich in iron, carbon dioxide and common salt, which has a good effect on the digestive system. In the Macbrunnen spring, water is used to treat respiratory diseases: it contains a large number of minerals, especially calcium, which helps to thin the mucus. The water in the Luitpoldsprudel spring with very high iron content is used for anaemia and general recovery of the body. For chronic constipation, sulfate-rich water from the Bitterwasser spring is prescribed.
