Resorts of California

California is the endless beaches and snowy passes of the Sierra Nevada, the IT giants of Silicon Valley, Hollywood, giant sequoia groves and futuristic interweaving of highways. It is also the richest state in the US, second in area only to Texas and Alaska. It stretches in a narrow strip along the Pacific coast from the Mexican border to the state of Oregon.

Sacramento – the capital of California, is somewhat in the shadow of the more famous San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Regions and resorts of California

The territory of California includes several regions that differ in landscape, climate and natural beauty. With hot summers and mild winters, the Pacific Coast from San Diego to San Francisco is the most populous and sunniest part of the state.

The Mojave Desert occupies significant areas in the south. Due to the scorching heat of the day and rare rains, there is almost no vegetation of any kind. In the local national park “Death Valley” are the “hottest” place in North America (recorded temperature +56.6 ° C) and the lowest point in the United States (86 m below sea level).

For hikers, it is better to go to the north of the state – to the national parks “Modoc”, “Klamath”, “Lassen” and “Shasta-Trinity” with virgin nature and a large number of trails for hiking.

The Sierra Nevada mountain range stretches for 750 km along the eastern border of California with snow-capped peaks reaching a height of 4418 m and Yosemite National Park.

Between the coast and the mountains of the Sierra Nevada, in the central part of the state, lies the California Valley. The local climate allows you to grow vegetables, fruits and grapes, from which the famous Californian wines are produced.
